Description

In today's business world, numerous kinds of techniques of commercial fraud cases have been appeared in Hong Kong. Detecting and exposing the business of commercial crimes contributes to the rise in a profession as commercial forensics. With the common usage of IT technology, corporations need to employ professionals of Computer Forensics and Forensic Accounting (both are in Commercial Forensics category) to conduct investigations to ensure the trueness of its visible and invisible information. Due to the lack of relevant professions in Hong Kong, the Sun Wah - PearL Training and Development Centre and award-winning University of Glamorgan in UK jointly to offer two related programmes, which are MSc Computer Forensics and MSc Forensic Audit and Accounting.

For the MSc Computer Forensics, it is highly recommended for I.T. professionals and computer-related degree holders. While the MSc Forensic Audit and Accounting is highly recommended for the Certified Public Accounts (CPA), qualified accountants and accounting-related degree holders. Organizations such as government departments, multinational corporations, insurance companies, financial and banking institutions also have a desire in hiring more relevant professions.

Programmes are complied by the university research department and taught by U.K. professors. These programmes also gain recognitions from many international professional bodies. For example, Glamorgan is one of only two universities approved by MI5 for graduate recruitment in Computer Forensics. In 2009, SWP won the Hong Kong Information and Communications Technology - Best Professional Development Award. Many graduates of these programmes are relevant professionals from government departments, local and overseas renowned professional organizations.

The fifth year of the master degree programmes will commence in February 2012. The class will be scheduled oever Friday evenings and weekends. Those who are interested in taking these programmes can apply now.
